Recently, in response to an invitation from the China NetworkWorld Press, Mr. Nan Chen, the president of Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) will be present to deliver keynote addresses at the Network World 2006 and Fifth Ethernet World Conference and Expo, which is bearing the theme of "One Dream, One Network".
Prior to the Conference of this year, Mr. Nan Chen has been present in the three consecutive previous Ethernet World Conference events and delivered keynote speeches, which had profound influences on the industry.
In 2003, Mr. Nan Chen released the first industrial standard on Ethernet services during the Ethernet World Conference. At that time, this MEF technical standard was in its first stage of development for Ethernet service models, symbolizing a significant leap for carrier-class Ethernet services. And, that was the first official presentation of the MEF in China.
In 2004, Mr. Nan Chen explained on the Ethernet World Conference that five necessary aspects to be improved for Ethernet to enter carrier-class markets, namely scalability, protection, hard SLA (service level agreement), TDM support and service management. For these five aspects, the MEF has released 9 standards, which are all of great significance for Ethernet to enter the world of carriers.
On the Ethernet World Conference of 2005, Mr. Nan Chen delivered his keynote address - "Where will Ethernet go?" which has been considered to have profound influences on the development of Ethernet.
This year, what opinion will be put forward by Mr. Nan Chen on the Ethernet World Conference? Please stay tuned.
Mr. Nan Chen gives the Ethernet World Conference high praise, and he says, "the Ethernet World is one of the largest and most important Ethernet event in the world jointed by over 1,000 people each year. And, it is one the best organized large-scale conferences. I have been joining this Conference for the past three years. I'm very pleased and proud of being a part of it.
